The saying goes that everyone should have a child, plant a tree, and write a book, not that I think so. However, I’ve just happened to have a child and I’ve planted trees. I still had to worry about the book. So here I am, writing a foreword to a play in which I have participated, and I will be able to die in peace it seems.
Thanks to Antonio Javier Calero (Antonio Purasangre); friend and biker of the good type, and my friend, colleague, and writer; Pepe Cantalejo. I have had the beautiful opportunity to participate in the elaboration of this book, guide, motorcycle route or whatever you want to call it. Whether you read it or not, it’s something that makes me enormously happy, just imagine if you got to read it then.
Humbly, I know that it is only a biker route, and that many biker colleagues and friends would also have been able to do it, or even improve on it. It would be very easy, especially if you knew my Andalusia, it could literally be so different, and still as beautiful and exciting. However, for me, the route itself is not the most important thing, because all of Andalusia is, in itself a perfect and infinite universe that should be seen and, of course, travelled by motorcycle.
Indeed, I am enthusiastic about offering a route that serves as the backbone for a visitor or traveller, to make them want to come and visit us. So, if they finally do come, I want to help them get to know it in a special way, that being by doing it on a motorcycle. Basically, because Andalusia is not only sun and beaches; it is so much more. With my knowledge of Andalusia, and its infinite possibilities of enjoyment. Using each and every one of our senses, has been the driving force that led me to help create this, The Great Andalusian Route.
With the passion of a young man, I decided to do my bit to help and promote and develop a love for Andalusia, although, perhaps, from a very different perspective: the road. I know I may sound presumptuous, but developing this route to last over time is something I could only dream about, this option was free, but it did not come cheap? My biggest wish is that it becomes as well-known as Route 66 or the Pan-American Highway, well, in my house it is. What about yours?
